g2x_search_events

What it does

Searches upcoming events on the G2X calendar — conferences, industry days, matchmaking and agency events — by words in the title, organizer or location, start-date window, US state, or virtual format. Each row is one event with its dates, where it is held, its organizer and its G2X event page. Dates that end before today return past events, newest first unless `order` asks for oldest first. `total` is how many events the search holds; pass `next_cursor` back as `cursor` to read the next page. When nothing matches every filter, rows whose facts carry `alternative` say what the calendar holds instead, each with the calendar's note: present them as alternatives, never as matches. A provisional result means the calendar couldn't be checked fully: never claim the event isn't listed.

Inputs

  • query (text, optional): Words from the event's title, organizer or location, e.g. "industry day" or "AFCEA".
  • start_date_from (text, optional): Earliest start date, YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today.
  • start_date_to (text, optional): Latest start date, YYYY-MM-DD. Before today, past events are searched.
  • state (text, optional): Two-letter US state code, e.g. VA.
  • virtual (true or false, optional): true for virtual events only; false leaves virtual events out.
  • limit (whole number, optional): Default: 10.
  • cursor (text, optional): The next_cursor a previous answer gave, to read the next page of the same search.
  • order (text, optional): newest_first or oldest_first. Past dates default to newest first, upcoming ones to oldest first. Allowed values: newest_first, oldest_first.

What it returns

Rows of records, each with a title, key facts and a link to its G2X record where one exists, plus notes on what the answer covers. A long list gives a cursor for the next page.
